Joo Cho, Director of SeismoTech, is a NZ registered Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), International Professional Engineer (IntPE) and also a member of IPENZ. He has 30 years of engineering experience in building industry both locally and internationally.

Joo has started work overseas as a construction / project engineer, mostly for high-rise buildings and heavy engineering sectors such as apartment buildings, office buildings, university campus, community centres, petro-chemical and industrial plants, etc.

Joo has immigrated to NZ 20 years ago and has been practicing engineering after undertaking his post-graduate research studies for structural engineering at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. He has worked for several engineering firms around NZ such as Harrison Grierson, AECOM, as well as the Christchurch City Council.

Additionally, Joo has had research and teaching experience as an Adjunct Professor in earthquake structural engineering for a university overseas.
